The Mazda 6 is renewed
THE ROAD TOWARDS THE PREMIUM - The positive sales results of the CX-9 SUV in the United States, especially as regards the high-end configurations, are a source of optimism for Mazda confirming its wish to be an important player at the table of premium cars with the presentation of the new Mazda 6 at the Los Angeles Motor Show. The Japanese sedan has some stylistic tweaks to the design, receives high-end interiors and a new 250-horsepower turbo engine.
EVOLUTION IN ELEGANT KEY - From the outside the Mazda 6 is very similar to what we saw in the previous edition, we add the two new colors Soul Red Crystal and Machine Gray Metallic, while the design changes are very discreet and do not significantly impact the proportions with the slightly lowered front grille and the 17 and 20-inch wheels that have been redesigned. The interior of the cockpit is instead completely new, only the steering wheel and some minor details remain the same as the model currently on the road. The horizontal lines extend from the dashboard to the doors and embrace the interior that in the new Signature configuration mounts wood trim to complement the use of leather on seats, doors, and dashboard.
NEW TURBO ENGINE - From the technological point of view, the news is not just about the Mazda 6engine. A new 7-inch screen acts as an instrument panel and will allow you to view all the information on the car's performance. Further innovations include the 360-degree camera system and ventilated front seats, the first ever for a Mazda car. The 2.5-liter SKYACTIV 4-cylinder turbo engine, already available on the CX-9, makes its debut on the Mazda 6 in the US with a figure of 250 horsepower and 420 Nm of torque at 2000 rpm when powered by premium petrol at 97 octane (Mazda said that with 87 octane petrol, present in the US, this particular engine produces 227 horsepower). The six-speed automatic transmission will accompany the turbo engine while, as in previous models, the 2.5 liter aspirated engine also available with manual transmission remains available. They have not been communicated.
